Transitioning Supervisors into Safety Leaders

This course is intended to be a learning opportunity for individuals in any Supervisory position and is a solid building block towards establishing “Supervisory Competence” that meets the Supervisor training requirements as per certifying partner audit protocol.

“Transitioning Supervisors into Safety Leaders” provides frontline Supervisors with a gained understanding of:

  • Supervisory Safety Responsibilities within an organization.
  • Employer, Supervisor and Worker legislated responsibilities and obligations overview.
  • Bill C-45 history and Due Diligence.
  • Documentation distinction; Policies, Safe Work Procedures, Codes of Practice.
  • Emergency Preparedness responsibilities.
  • Supervisory Leadership Skills related to Coaching techniques, Team Motivation and the development of a positive Safety Culture.

Basic Incident Investigation

This course is focused on the base understanding:

  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Tools to conduct an Investigation

Objectives:

  • Know what your responsibilities are as a member of an incident investigation team.
  • Understand and be able to correctly utilize key incident investigation terminology.
  • Understand what information is to be gathered during the investigation including preservation of the incident scene and collection of evidence.
  • Be able to conduct effective, focused incident investigation interviews without intimidating or placing interviewees in undo duress.
  • Be able to identify the root cause(s).
  • Be able to develop appropriate conclusions regarding cause(s) and write effective recommendations for corrective action.
  • Be able to develop and write corrective actions, incident investigation reports and lessons learned at the conclusion of an incident investigation.

Workplace Violence & Harassment

“OHS Regulations across Canada stipulates that employers are required to have a methodology for protecting workers from potential Workplace Violence and Harassment.”

Workers and Supervisors can participate in a 2-hour Workplace Violence & Harassment workshop in order to gain an understanding of:

  • What is meant by Workplace Violence & Harassment.
  • Provincial Legislation specifics regarding Workplace Violence & Harassment.

Hazard Assessment & Control

Hazard Assessments are the core of every organization’s Occupational Health and Safety Management System.

First Aid and CPR Courses

First aid and CPR are valuable skills that can positively impact an emergency situation. We offer a variety of first aid and CPR training such as emergency first aid, standard first aid and health care provider CPR and AED training. All of our First Aid and CPR courses are based on the Heart & Stroke Foundation standards and the issued certificate is recognized by Alberta Human Resources and Employment, Workplace Health and Safety.
